So we all have the usual derailment of healthy/mindful habits!

I am a firm believer in balance and living life, and sometimes that means a period of time where eating more sweets or an extra glass of wine happens.

It can be so easy to have the overwhelming guilt feeling sneak in, but thats natural and NOT being perfect is too.

Heck, even 80/20 isn't realistic all the time.

The natural flow of life will form the balance if you are mindful so here are some tips to get BACK on track.

-Start where you are:

This may work better for some BUT personally it is easier to have a transition period instead of straight back to the "usual".

This for me means limiting my self to a small treat a week, and if doing so in a smart manner, a couple!

Keep in mind, when I say smart that means non-processed and limited refined sugars.

Listen to what your body needs.

-It doesn't happen over night so don't try to do it all at once:

When you go from one extreme to the other and allow no room for true growth it becomes easy to become overwhelmed. Failing is easier on a daily basis and you will feel like CRAP.

Try to focus on 3 simple things like drinking more water, eating more vegetables, and cutting out some sweets on that grocery run.

Make it more manageable so you can stay motivated.

-DONT GUILT yourself:

Guilt is an energy sucker! Put that energy on eating healthy.

-Dont try to be perfect:

The temptation is always there so the idea of getting back on track is being mindful of what you are consuming. That means have a nutrition reset. This can be difficult with no slip up but if you have one, drink that extra water and don't BINGE.

-Food Diary or Tracker:

This helps you make sure 1. your consuming ENOUGH!!! And,

2. Helps your accountability.

-RESETS:

Sometimes nutrition resets are needed by our bodies.

You may notice more sugar cravings, decreased energy levels, and unstable hormones, which affects mindset change. Know this "back on track" mentality doesn't have to become a tricky time, allow your body to have a reset then get back to it.

You don't have to panic and feel desperate and jump to a restrictive diet that makes your body feel even worse. Focus on healthier choices FIRST!
