Have you heard the old saying "an apple a day keeps the Doctor away"?

Just as a apple does have many benefits, our focus should be on foods that benefit the body, especially through the "stress of the holidays".

1. Spinach- Most dark greens contain a LOT of important nutrients that our bodies need like, Vitamins A, C, E, K, fiber, minerals, omegas, and folate.

With some of these beneficial nutrients you can reduce heart disease risk, lose weight, and improve your memory.

2. Yogurt- Yogurts are known for probiotics which boost immune systems!

Greek or plain yogurt is better for optimal results because most flavored yogurt is loaded with sugar which is not great for overall health.

3. Tomatoes- ANTIOXIDANTS!!! Antioxidants

can decrease risk of artery, skin, bladder and lung disease disease.

4. Blueberries- ANTIOXIDANTS!

This fruit is also good for fiber, Vitamin A and C.

5. Walnuts- Offer Omegas, Protein, anti-inflammatory ingredients which is more than other nuts offer.

Most consider this nut a superfood and think they should be eaten daily.

6. Oats ( my favorite )- I use gluten free obviously BUT Oats are a great breakfast food which is packed with fiber which benefits your GUT, heart, and that pant size!

7. Sweet Potatoes- Offer Vitamin A, potassium, and fiber which all benefit

eye, bone, and immune health.

8. Broccoli (second Fave)- This delicious veggie is loaded in vitamins and folate.

It also naturally boosts detox enzymes.

My favorite part of this one is the variety of ways it can be cooked to make it extra yummy!
